Abstract
PURPOSE: To simply produce darkly-colored zinc-plated steel-plate by a method wherein a soft steel plate is electroplated in a known zinc electroplating bath added with water-soluble metal cpds. and additional organic cpds., then the plated steel is heated either as it is or after chromate treatment.
CONSTITUTION: To a known acidic zinc plating bath, added is at least one of water-soluble cpds. of Co, Ni, Fe, Mo, W, Cr, Zr, In, Ti, V, Sn, Pb, and Mn. The amount of metals being added is to satisfy the conditions in the total amount of a single or combined metals in each of the following groups: (a) group (Co, Ni, Fe): 3W50g/l, (b) group (Mo, W, Cr, Zr, In, Ti, V): 0.01W7g/l, (c) group (Sn Pb, Mn): 5W60g/l. An organic auxiliary agent to be added includes 20g/l or less of alkyl betaine type, polyacrylate copolymer, dicyandiamide-formaldehyde, etc. After plating in the above plating bath, the steel plate is heated at 200W600°C.
