Abstract

PURPOSE:To make first setting easy and make possible fine adjustment by applying required voltage to piezoelectric ceramics to deform these thereby adjusting the gap between a stylus board and a dielectric. CONSTITUTION:Gap sensors 15 are mounted to both side parts of a stylus board 3 and the ends of the sensor 15 are aligned to the end of an electrode needle. Guides 10 are then fixed to side plates 13 by being lightly contacted with a dielectric 1 or holding a slight gap. Next, while the gap is being measured with the gap sensors 15, voltage is successively applied to piezoelectric ceramics 11. If such a polarity and voltage are applied as to cause the end of the piezoelectric ceramics 11A to deform upward when the gap G1 is narrower than a desired gap G and to cause the end deform downward when the gap G2 is wider than a desired gap G, respectively, the gap may be controlled to a desired value G. In this way, the first setting and fine adjustment are made easy and the change of the gap owing to wear may be prevented.
