Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the working property and the quality by a method wherein a heat exchanger such as a cooling-water radiator of an automobile is constructed in such a structure that a pipe and corrugated fins are conjoined through a two-sided adhesive tape comprising a metal foil by heating.
CONSTITUTION: The adhesive layers 3b of connecting tapes 3, 3 are pressure contacted to both side faces of a U-shaped flat pipe 1, then the distance between the side faces of opposite pipe portions of the U-shaped portion is slightly increased, corrugated fins 2 are inserted between the connecting tapes 3, and the crest portions (joint portions) of the corrugated fins 2 are contacted to the joint layer 3c of the connecting tapes 3 for temporary assembly. The temporarily assembled article is fixed to a jig, placed in an overn and heated. Accordingly, the adhesive layers 3c, 3b become pasty, the crest portions of the corrugated fins 2 bite into the connecting tapes 3 due to the recoiling force of the fins 2, the adhesive 3c swells to the sides and a strong bonding is obtained.
