Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform the superfinishing work to a mirror surface finish, by placing an electrode near a cylindrical work in such a manner that a clearance between the tool electrode and the cylindrical work constructs an abrasive pressing force of specific value. CONSTITUTION:Between a cathode tool electrode 1 and anode cylindrical work 3, an abrasive 6 and electrolyte 7 are interposed to perform a finishing work of machining for the outer surface of the cylindrical work 3. Here the electrode 1 and electrode 1 and electrode face 2 are approximated to the cylindrical work 3 in such a manner that a gap lg between 1, and 3 constructs an abrasive pressing force not less than 0.5kg f/cm<2>. Then the abrasive 6 prevents a shorting of the work 3 to the electrode 1 and functions to hold an electrolytic gap, and to an adequate portion of the electrode face 2 a buff is adhered. In this way, a relatively simple device can perform the superfinishing work to a stable mirror surface of about 0.1mumRmax.
