Abstract

PURPOSE:To print a dot matrix of high resolution required for printing a chinese character ''knaji'' as well by a method wherein a speed control circuit for a servomotor is added to a dot printer for English numerals and the moving speed of a printing head is lowered by a ''kanji'' signal. CONSTITUTION:A timing disc 2 being directly connected to the shaft of the servomotor 1, one pulse is generated, for instance, at every time when a print head 4 moves sideward by 1/120 inches. A main dot corresponds to every second timing signal, while a half dot corresponds to subsequent every second timing signal, and one English numeral or one character of a kana is expressed by nine timing signals. As for a kanji, one character thereof is printed by sixteen timing signals. On the occasion, the moving speed of the printing head to the lateral direction is reduced to about half of that for printing English numeral and, the distiniction btween the main and half dots being eliminated, the printing of all the 16 dots in the lateral direction is made to be possible.
