Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency in mixing and kneading of molten extruding material by a method wherein a smaller diameter portion is formed on each of a pair of screw shafts arranged in a barrel and stirring blades are projected respectively thereon. CONSTITUTION:A pair of parallel screws 1, 2 are arranged rotatively in the barrel 9 of the extrusion molding machine and the smaller diameter portions 5, 6 are formed on the respective screw shafts 1a, 2a of screws 1, 2. Furthermore, the stirring blades 7, 8 are projected on the screws 1, 2 respectively. Synthetic resin molding material is supplied into the barrel 9 and heated gradually in a feed portion. Then, the material is pressed in quick heat and plasticized by the heat from the barrel 9 and the shearing frictional heat between the screws 1, 2. Subsequently, in the molten portion the material is kneaded by laminar mixture by rotation of the screws 1, 2, by turbulent mixture between the screws 1, 2 and by shearing force with stirring blades 7, 8. And change of relative positions of the material in the smaller diameter portion is undergone to carry out thorough kneading.
