Abstract

PURPOSE:To promote the complication of mixing and flow of a molding material in an extrusion molding machine and increase the shearing force from screws provided therein, by using two screw shafts each of which is provided on its outer circumferential surface with two types of helically arranged blades of different pitches. CONSTITUTION:A molten material reaching a melting section around screw shafts, i.e. a molding material-extruding section around screws S is subjected to laminar flow mixing in accordance with the rotation of the screws S while receiving a large shearing force in a gap between the inner circumferential surface of a cylinder 7 and the outer surfaces of the screws S. Thus, the molten material is kneaded sufficiently. At this time, the flow of the molten material is divided among blades 3, 4, 5, 6 of different pitches, and complicated. This allows the molten material to be subjected to turbulent mixing, and promotes the kneading of the material. The molten material divided into lumps by the blades 3-6 and these lumps are put together again after they have passed subsequent set of blades 3-6. When the molding material reaches a second of blades 3-6, the molten material is divided at such portions thereof that are different from the portions thereof at which the material was divided and joined. Such operations are repeated to mix a material sufficiently as the material is divided and joined at different portions thereof in different position on the screws S.
