PURPOSE:To prevent coagulating and coarsening of developing nuclei and increase print resisting power by mixing the physical developing nuclei with polyvinyl alcohol of the specific rate of saponification before their grain sizes reach the specific value in producing the physical developing nuclei for lithographic printing material adapted for a silver complex salt diffusion transfer process. CONSTITUTION:In producing physical developing developing nuclei for lithographic printing material utilizing transfer silver by a silver complex salt diffusion transfer process as ink receptivity, the coating soln. is prepd. by mixing an aqueous soln. of metal salts such as palladium chloride and an aqueous soln. of sodium thiosulfate under stirring for a short time at around 20-70 deg.C, adding an aqueous soln. of polyvinyl alcohol of 80-95% in rate of saponification into the mixed soln. before the particle sizes of the physical development produced owing to reduction of the above-described metals reach about 50Angstrom and adding a suitable amount of water after mixing these. Necessary developing agents, silver halide solvent, hardeners, etc. are added to this coating soln. and the thus prepd. soln. is used for forming image receiving layers. In this way, superior printing resistance property is obtained without causing coagulation and sedimentation of the physical developing nuclei.
