Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the projection at always a constant magnification even if the distance from the projecting optical system up to the projected position changes by moving at least two partial optical systems constituting the imaging optical system in the predetermined relation.
CONSTITUTION: The lens groups I and IV constituting the imaging optical system are stationary and the moving extents (s), (t) of the lens groups II and III satisfy the formulas 1, 2, whereby the lens back is made variable in the state that its imaging magnification is held constant. Here, the 1st face opposes to a light source or film plane and the 10th face opposes to the projecting plane. When this optical device is adapted to a slide projector, the 1uminous flux from the light source is condensed by a condenser lens and passes through the film, thereby forming the image of the light source at the incident pupil of the imaging optical system. The film plane and the projecting plane are in optically conjugate positions with respect to the imaging optical system and even if the spacing between the imaging optical system and the projecting plane changes, the image of the film is formed on the projecting surface at a constant magnification.
