Abstract

PURPOSE:To smooth disconnecting action, by providing shunt circuits for a plurality of solar battery circuits coupled in parallel with one another and by keeping each suceeding shunt circuit at a low level throughout the operation of the preceding shunt circuit when sequentially disconnecting the solar battery circuits depending on the demand of a load. CONSTITUTION:Upper arrays 11a-14a are connected in series with lower arrays 11b-14b so that solar battery circuits 11-14 are constituted. The solar battery circuits are coupled in parallel with one another. The outputs of the battery circuits are connected to a load 19 through blocking diodes 15-18. An error voltage detector 20 is provided in parallel with the load 19 to control a shunt drive circuit 21 when an overvoltage is applied to the load. Shunt circuits 26-29 are coupled to the shunt drive circuit 21 through diode circuits 22-25 which are different in the number of their diodes, thereby controlling the disconnection of the battery circuits 11-14. Resistors 30-32 are provided between the shunt circuits 26-29 and the diode circuits 22-25 to lower the operating level of the shunt circuits in the sequence of 26, 27, 28, 29.
