Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a simple-structure and high-accuracy detector which features a simple mounting, by deciding the torque with an integration given to the internal pressure of the cylinder during the shift of the piston between its upper and lower dead points.
CONSTITUTION: The arrival of the piston at its upper and lower dead points is detected by angle detectors 102 and 103 which detect optically the slit of the disk provided to the cam shaft of the internal combustion engine. This detection signal is applied to RS-type FF37, D-type FF38, mono-multi 39 and others via the inverter, OR gate and others. Thus analog switches 24aW24c perform the necessary opening/ closing. As a result, an integration is given by integral network 107 between the cylinder pressure detection signal of the piston between its upper and lower dead points under the process of explosion due to piezoelectric element 101 and the inversion detection output obtained via inverting circuit 105 of the cylinder pressure between the piston's lower and upper dead points during the air exhausting process. As a result, the effective mean pressure proportional to the torque is calculated to obtain a simple-structure and high-accuracy torque detector which can easily be mounted and eliminates such detector that shifts via the spring or the like.
