Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the contrast ratio of a screen during observation by coloring the screen surface into a complementary color which is selected from display colors. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a screen film to be observed, or the body color of a fluorescent substance which forms the screen film is colored into a complementary color which is a desirable color selected from the colors of a multicolor display. A so-called Nesa film which is formed on the inner wall surface of a face glass by depositing tin chloride, antimony chloride, or the like. The inner wall surface serves as the screen front. An interference color is then applied, on the Nesa film, and a normal screen film is subsequently created. This permits a penetration type color cathode- ray tube to exceedingly improve easiness to read for a color which is insufficient in the brightness of display colors and the inside wall surface of the face glass to have an effect for the antireflection of outer light.
