Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate miswiring and simplify the test by assembling a tester housing necessary parts such as DC power source, ammeter and backward diode connected in parallel to the ammeter therein.
CONSTITUTION: A current transformer (CT)2 is mounted to an electric wire 1 and with a power source switch 9 on, a polarity testing switch 10 is connected thereto. Thereupon, instantaneous current is returned to the negative pole side through a CT ratio selection variable vesistor 11 via a terminal k, the electric wire 1, a load 5 and a terminal L from the positive pole side of the DC power source 8. As the current flows through the electric wire 1, a coil 3 of CT2 is excited due to the electromagnetic induction. While the current returns to the coil 3 via the terminal l, the ammeter 13, a power supply checking switch 12, and a terminal k, the ammeter swings in the positive way. Upon the release of the switch 10, the opposite state takes place, where the ammeter 13 swings in the negative way. Thus, the subtractive polarity of CT2 is confirmed. When the state is opposite, the additive polarity is confirmed. This simplifies the testing.
