Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition which can be subjected to high speed wire coating without lowering the flexibility and the softening temperature of the coating, by adding a furan resin to a specific modified polyamide-imide resin obtained by the reaction in a cresol-based solvent.
CONSTITUTION: The titled composition is obtained by adding a furan resin such as a furfural.formaldehyde resin to a modified polyamide-imide resin obtained by reacting in a cresol-based solvent, (A) an isocyanurate ring-containing polyisocyanate containing 10W70% of residual isocyanate, (B) an aromatic diisocyanate such as tolylene diisocyanate, (C) a lactam (pref. ε-caprolactam) and (D) a polycarboxylic acid containing an acid anhydride. The amounts of (A) and (C) are 1W30 equivalent % and 20W90 equivalent % of the total isocyanate equivalent, respectively, and the ratio of the carboxyl group and the acid anhydride group in (D) to the isocyanate group is 1:1.5W0.7.
