Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the operational reliabioity of the freezing and thawing type sludge treatment apparatus by providing jointly a filtrate amount meter, a discharged sludge amount meter, and a controller in a sludge discharging system from a dehydrator for sludge.
CONSTITUTION: Sludge concentrated in a sludge concentrating tank 4 is further concentrated by a centrifugal separtor 5 and then stored in a storage tank 6. Then, a certain amount of the sludge is put in a freezing-thawing furnace 7 to separate moisture present in the form of ice for dehydration, thawed, put in a vacuum dehydrator 11 for further dehydration, and then dropped onto a belt conveyer 12 for discharge. In this case, the filtrate amount of the dehydrator 11 is measured by a meter 21, the amount of discharged sludge is measured by a meter 22, and then from these values measured, the amount of liquid discharged is calculated to compare it with the amount of sludge fed to the dehydrator 11 in order to judge whether or not sludge is left inside the dehydrator 11. In case where sludge is left, the controller sends out an alarm for the faulity delivery of sludge to prevent the overflow of sludge from the dehydrator 11. Thus, the operation of the freezing and thawing type sludge treatment apparatus can be performed normally all time time.
