Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect pipes and valves from damage due to a heat shock and lengthen the lifetime of a device, by comparing the difference between the temperature of a liquid metal in a main pipe and that of the pipes and valves of a sample pickup circuit with a set value to control the output of a heater for the pipes and valves.
CONSTITUTION: The temperature of a liquid metal measured by a thermocouple 30 and that of sample pickup circuit's pipes and valves measured by another thermocouple 31 are processed by a temperature difference calculator 32 to apply the temperature difference to a comparison and calculation unit 34. This unit compares the temperature difference with a set value. A value calculated by the unit 34 is applied to an automatic output regulator 35 to preheat the pipes and valves of the sample pickup circuit by the output of a heater 29 connected to the regulator to approximate the temperature of the pipes and valves to that of a sample sucked in from a main pipe 0. The temperatures of the pipes and valves ae confirmed to start a pump 22 to introduce the sample from the main pipe 0 into the sample pickup circuit.
