Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture bearing metals in high efficiency by forming V shape grooves using a cutting process in combination to the beaing alloy layer of band shape compound plate, and cutting and forming in one process.
CONSTITUTION: For making grooves at the bearing alloy side, a cutting process or this and an embossing process are used in combination. For example, the V shape grooves 4 and 5 are formed to the bearing alloy layer 2 and the steel backing layer 3 of band shape compound plate 1 by means of an embossing process. The depth of groove 4 is the full thickness of layer 2 or less. Next, the rotched part 6, the mark 7 and the oil hole 8 are provided. The cut groove 10 penetrated to the backing metal 3 is formed by cutting the V shape groove 4. The compound plate 1 formed the grooves is fed to the center of punch 11 of press, and a part of the V shape groove is bent cutting by the die 12 and the punch 11 successively. Then, the die 12 is lowered to make a half cylindrical shape, and complete cutting is made at the V shape grooves of the compound plate 1. The last forming is made with the block 13.
