Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a picture recording with no deterioration of the picture quality, by providing the solid state image pickup element plus the detachable memory device storing the output signal of the pickup element to the main body of the endscope. CONSTITUTION:Light guide 15 is provided at the tip part of endscope main body 11 along with solid state image pickup element 13; and recorder 22 which can be attached and detached freely is installed at the rear end of main body 11 respectively. When the tip part of main body 11 is inserted into the body and light source device 14 is actuated, the illumination light passed through guide 15 irradiates the subject to form the subject image at element 13 via object lens 12. Under these conditions, working switch 19 is operated to actuate control unit 18. Thus element 13 is scanned by scanner 25 to deliver the video signal. This video signal undergoes the digital conversion through A/D comparator 23 to be stored in register 24. The picture signal of register 24 is stored in recorder 22 according to the address signal of address counter 26. At the same time, the signal of element 13 is supplied to monitor reproducing device 20 for reproduction. Thus no long transmission line is used for recording, and accordingly the effect of the resistance of the transmission line, the noise and others is never given. As a result, an observation is possible for the picture of a high quality.
