Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a soil conditioner which is easy to handle and provided with both organic and inorganic properties as well as fertilizing effect, by a method wherein sewage sludge, blast furnace slag, and microbes are mixed and cultivated to grow, then dried.
CONSTITUTION: In a groove 2a made on concrete floor 2, a vent pipe 4 having many vent holes 4a at the upper protion is arranged. Above the vent pipe 4, a wooden frame 3 is mounted via crossties 5. On the frame, a mixture 1 of 1pts.wt. of sewage sludge contg. 70W80wt% of water, 0.5W5pts.wt. of blact furnace slag and 0.01W0.02pts.wt. of thermophilic bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis and nematocidial bacterium are stacked in the form of half-shell. The mixture 1 is left to cause aerobic fermentation untill high-temp. condition of 50W60°C is reached in a period of 2W4 days. Then, dry air is fed into the vent pipe 4 to pass the inside of the mixture 1, until it dries to moisture content of about 30%. The process provides a fretilizing soil condtioner consisting of nontacky, rustling dride product.
