Abstract

PURPOSE:To effectively recover the residual toner by removing and collecting the toner remaining on a photoreceptor after transfer, bringing said removed toner in contact with part of the developer stored in a developing device and conveying the toner. CONSTITUTION:The toner remained on the surface of a photoreceptor 7a is scraped by the blade 14b of a cleaning device 14 and accumulates in the bottom of a housing 14a. This toner is then conveyed to the lead-out path 14c formed in the lower part of the housing 14a by a screw conveyor 21. On the other hand, the magnetic material particles which are the constituting elements of the developer are stuck on the outer side of a ring 22a by the magnetic forces of the magnets 22b1, 22b2... fixed on the inner side of the cleaning of the conveying device and the toner is stuck electrostatically on these particles and is thereby moved. In this way, part of the developer is conveyed up to the lead-out part 14c. The developer electrostatically sucks the charged toner particles staying near the lead-out path 14c and conveys them up to a developing device 9 along with the rotation of the ring 22a. The residual toner is recovered in said manner.
