Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure a DC leak current accurately by applying a DC voltage to one end of a main circuit cable and to the other end whose outer surface is grounded and measuring a current that flows.
CONSTITUTION: A circuit breaker 3 is turned off and a disconnect switch 15 is opened by operating an operating mechanism 16. By so doing, a current transformer 5 for instruments and the circuit breaker 3 do not affect a main circuit calbe 9. Next, a bypass circuit 17 which returns a leak current that flows from the conductor part of a double construction insulator 14 through the insulator 14 to the power source is formed with a shield wire. Finally, a hook bar 10 is hanged to a voltage applying terminal 8 and a switch 11 is closed to apply a high DC voltage, then, only a current that flows over the surface of the cable flows through an ammeter 13 and the leak current can be measured accurately.
