Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the concrete lacking strength from being carried out or in by estimating the strength of unhardened concrete at an age of S (integer ≥1) weeks from which samples are taken, before the concrete has been hardened.
CONSTITUTION: A fixed quantity of concrete sample is taken from unhardened concrete, or a fixed qantity of mortar sample is taken by sifting out and removing coarse aggregate from unhardened concrete. A mixture obtained by mixing the sample and water glass together is formed into a sample, which is used in the compressive strength test to obtain the compressive strength fcn or fmn at an age of n minutes. Then the compressive strength at an age of S weeks is estimated by using a graph or formulas previously prepared through strength tests to show the relationship between the compressive strength fcn or fmn at an age of n minutes and the compressive strength Fs at an age of S weeks of the sample.
