Abstract
PURPOSE:To prolong the life of CRT greatly by preventing a fluorescent display screen from deteriorating by finely changing a display picture in position by supplying a deflecting circuit with an auxiliary deflecting signal of extremely small amplitude and a minute frequency. CONSTITUTION:Still picture signal Vs is input to picture signal input terminal 1 and a picture is displayed on fluorescent screen 4 of CRT2. In this state, two output sine waves SH and SV from auxiliary deflecting circuit 11 are adjusted to 0.01Hz in frequency and amplitudes about 1/100-1/500 those of horizontal and vertical deflecting currents IH and IV and supplied to horizontal and vertical deflecting circuits 7 and 8, so that the display picture on fluorescent screen 4 will move along a circle on fluorescent screen 4 at a slow speed, i.e. 0.01 rotation/second. Such a moving speed can not be sensed through normal observation, so that there will be no obstacle to the observation. Consequently, since parts where electron beam B strike at any time are dispersed, no burning occurs and the life of CRT can be prolonged.
