Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent disturbance happening to a communication circuit in distance measurement by performing the aquisition of the 2nd stations by use of the measured value of the 1st station on the earth. CONSTITUTION:The 1st earth station among earth stations that constitute a time- division multiplex multiple-access satellite communication system measure a distance from the station to a satellite and on the basis of the distance of the 1st station, the satellite is automatically tracked to find tracking angle data. This distance data and/or tracking angle data are transmitted to the 2nd earth station and the 2nd station calculates the distances from the 1st station and 2nd station to the satellite by use of latitudes, longitudes and elevations of the 1st and 2nd stations to be measured, the target stationary longitude of the satellite, and tracking angle data of the 1st station. Differences between those values are added as correction values to distance data measured by the 1st station and the 2nd station predicts the distance from the 2nd station to the satellite; and the distance is converted into propagation time to determine the signal transmission time of the 2nd station, thereby preventing disturbance happening to the communication circuit in distance measurement.
