Abstract

PURPOSE: To construct the offshore structure excellent in economy, constructibility, and durability by a procedure in which a block formed by surrounding it with vertical walls in such a way as to open the upper and lower sides of its hollow portion is carried along to a predetermined position with the aid of a float and then sunk.
CONSTITUTION: The block 3 is formed of the vertical walls 1 extending vertically so that its upper end can come to the surface of water and also its lower end can reach the bottom of water when it is sunk in a given water area. Also, the hollow portion 2 of the block 3 formed by the vertical walls 1 is opened at both the upper and lower sides. The block 3 is floated on the water surface by the float 4, carried along to a given position, sunk by removing the float 4 or by letting air out of the float 4, and then charging soil and sand into the hollow portion 2 in order to construct the offshore structure.
