Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain an effective and high wave-breaking efficiency by a method wherein a wave breaker comprises a main body for breaking waves and a combination of two floating members and a mooring device for floatedly arranging the main body, and the main body comprises openings for communicating sea water inlet- outlet passages with hollow portions for containing sea water.
CONSTITUTION: The floating wave breaker comprises a main body 1 for breaking waves and a combination of floating members 10 and a mooring device 8 for floatedly arranging the main body 1. The main body 1 is provided at its lower portion with sea water inlet-outlet passages 5 which open 51 on the outer side of the main body 1 and are gradually narrowed toward the inward direction of the main body 1 by a slanted bottom surface. At the upper portion of the main body 1, there are provided hollow portions 6 for containing sea water which are communicated with the innermost side of the passages 5 through openings 7 for flowing the sea water. The main body 1 is floatedly arranged on he sea by the floating members 10 and the mooring device 8, in such a manner that the upper edge of the openings 51 is positioned near the still-water level. Accordingly, it is possible to floatedly arranged the main body 1 at a desired place and to obtain a good wave-breaking efficiency for waves of relatively long period.
