Abstract
PURPOSE:To move the slag unevenly existing around the furnace walls to the central part and accelerate the melting of lime by blowing a gas by varying the gas blow rates of bottom blowing nozzles at suitable intervals. CONSTITUTION:Respective or every certain number of lances of furnace bottom lances 4 are grouped and a flow control unit is so installed that blowing gas flow rates may be independently controlled for each of respective lances or each of the lances of every plural lances having been grouped. The gas flow rates from the lances 4 are varied during blowing, so that the unmelted lime unevely existing around the furnace walls is carried to the furnace central part and the melting of the lime is accelerated.
