Abstract
PURPOSE:To lower the inertia of a following body while enlarging generating torque by a mechanism wherein the following body is formed by an eddy current generating plate arranged into a magnetic circuit which a drive body makes up and a boss consisting of a conductive material, and the boss is fixed to an output shaft. CONSTITUTION:A drive body 10 is fastened to as haft 5 of a motor. The drive body 10 consists of a magnetic pole body 20 with a U-shaped section and a magnetic path forming body 23, and a thin cup-shaped eddy current generating plate 35 is arranged into a magnetic path among the magnetic pole pieces 17, 19 of the magnetic pole body 20 and the magnetic path forming body 23. A following body 40 is formed by the eddy current generating plate 35 and a boss 38 being composed of a good conductor such as aluminum, and the boss 38 is fixed to an output shaft 30. Thus, the inertia of the following body 40 is reduced while the boss 38 can double as an end ring of the eddy current generating plate 35, generating torque is enlarged, and a cooling effect can be improved.
