Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure the lubricating performance by means of an oil deflector made of a sheet plate with the outside end thereof retained inserted into the sleeve-shaped case while the inside end is retained on the differential gear with a space to be used for the rear drive shaft of automobiles, etc. CONSTITUTION:For example when a centrifugal force is applied in the direction B due to sudden turn of the vehicle or the like, the lubricant 28 flows to the right, tending to move to the outward tip of the shaft 14. But the movement is intercepted by the oil deflector 20 and the insertion port of sleeve-shaped case section 10b of the axile casing 10. Consequently, the surface of the lubricant 28 initially moves from the position of the dash and a dot line A to the dash and two dots line C and then, flows out gradually. Accordingly, the differential gear 12 is in contact with the surface of the lubricant for a long time maintaining lubrication. Said mechanism can prevent biased lubricant thereby maintaining proper lubricating performance.
