Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an element described in the title, which can replace or remove humidity together with odorous gas such as org. solvent, O3, or other toxic gas, by winding single-side corrugated board made by sticking a corrugated sheet to a plane sheet around a core material to form a cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A long single-side corrugated board 3 having a number of small through-holes 8 which opens on both sides is made by sticking a corrugated sheet 2 to a plane sheet 1, both sheets being made of gas permeable sheets such as paper, cloth impregnated with dehumidifying agent. On the other hand, a long, single- side corrugated board 6 having a number of small through-holes 9 which opens on both sides is made by sticking a corrugated sheet 5 to a plane sheet 4, both sheets being made of paper mixed with carbon fiber. The boards 3, 6 are butted at the longitudinal ends and are wound around a single core 7 to form cylinders of the same diameter which constitute a rotary deodorizing and dehumidifying element. The rotary element is incorporated in a deodorizing and dehumidifying unit. Hereby deodorization and dehumidification are performed at the same time by passing a gas to be treated 10 through the small through-holes of a treating zone 12, and a gas for regeneration 13 through the small through-holes of a regenerating zone 15.
