Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to remove even the finely dispersed oils with an apparatus of simple constitution by passing the oil-contg. liquid through a coarsening layer to coarsen and float the oil components and separate the same then passing the same through a modified filter made of paper.
CONSTITUTION: As the 1st stage, the oil-contg. liquid is passed through a coarsening layer 1 of PP or the like having 100,001W300,000 molecular weights to coarsen the oil mist and allow the same to float in a floating chamber 2. The floating oil is then discharged through an oil discharge hole 3. Next, as the 2nd stage, the purified liquid of degreased oil components by allowing the coarsened oil components to float in the floating chamber 2 is led into the modified filter 5 made of paper provided in a partition cylinder 4. The finely dispersed oil of about 1W2μ is coarsened by the filter 5 and part of the emulsion is also unstabilized thereby and becomes easy to remove. The purified oil past the filter 5, that is, the purified liquid containing the coarsened oil dispersion and unstabilized emulsion is removed of oil components by a collecting cylinder 7, after which it is circulated to a feed water tank 6.
