Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a motor-burning accident in an abnormal state by measuring time intervals of pulses generated every time a body of revolution turns by a fixed amount and then by stopping a driving circuit when the measured value exceeds a fixed value.
CONSTITUTION: While print operation is carried out normally, printer 8 outputs timing pulse TP at fixed intervals of time through constant-speed rotation of a drum. Every time pulse TP rises, one-shot circuit 11 supplies counter reset signal RS to counter 5. If paper jams, printer 8 never outputs pulse TP even a certain time later and counter 5 continues to count a clock signal. In this state, when the count value reaches a fixed value, motor stop signal ST is output from decoder 7 and supplied to printer control circuit 1, and consequently the outputting of motor driving signal MD and solenoid driving signal SD is stopped. Thus, accidents are prevented.
