Abstract
PURPOSE: To simply manufacture the crank shaft through a few passes, by using the flange plate and the tubular body in performing the bulging work.
CONSTITUTION: The flange plate 2 is fitted to the metallic pipe 1 placing inside its taper hole 4 from outside of the main axis of the metallic pipe 1. The upper and lower dies 10, 11, are provided with the forming cavities 8, 9, of required shape and dimensions in the mutually opposing surfaces; the flange plate 2 is fitted to the metallic pipe 1 which is then put into above stated upper and lower dies 10, 11; after that, the working oil 12 is introduced from one side of the dies 10, 11, into the metallic pipe 1 to the full, and the oil 12 is pressurized. The push block 14 provided with the through-hole 13 at the center is fitted to the outer end of the eccentric axis of the metallic pipe 1 so as to be axially slidable. Hereby, the outer surface of the metallic pipe 1 is bulged into required shape and dimensions, and also, its eccentric axis is axially pressed by the push block 14, so that the bend 1a is upset into the taper hole 4 of the flange plate 2.
