Abstract
PURPOSE:To nearly uniform the temperature distribution of the atmosphere of disks in the stacking direction of disks, by supporting a spindle at both ends and by making the shape of housing vertically symmetric. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic disks 1 being stacked are held by a hub 2 and fix fitted around a spindle 3. This spindle 3 is pivoted on the upper and lower parts of housing halves 9 and 10 with flanges 11 and 11' through bearings 4 and 4'. The housing halves 9 and 10 have upper and lower symmetric surfaces and are split in the center. Into flange fitting parts 14 and 14' of those housing halves, a spindle assembly part having combined disks 1 is inserted and after it is positioned, the counter housing half 10 is fitted to fix the housing halves and flanges 11 and 11' mutually. Consequently, the temperature distribution of the atmosphere of the disks is nearly uniformed in the stacking direction of the disks, thereby reducing a thermal off-track phenomenon.
