PURPOSE:To obtain a unit with a resonance phenomenon reduced greatly by arranging a rotary axis, where a magnetic recording medium is fitted, in the unit vertically and by supporting the rotary axis by spherical bearings at its upper and lower ends. CONSTITUTION:In supporting structure 101, vertically-arranged rotary axis 102 is supported by spherical bearings 105 and 104 at its upper and lower axis ends, and the upper bearing is pushed by pre-pressure spring 106. To rotary axis 102, rotator 107 and magnetic recording medium 111 are fixed, and structure 101 is equipped with stator 3, brake shoe 108, exciting electromagnet 110, brake spring 109, and floating type magnetic head 112. Rotary axis 102 is supported by pre- pressure spring 106 and bearings 104 and 105 without causing resonance, so that the device with resonance reduced greatly can be obtained.
