Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a filter member from being clogged by the treating liquid contg. granular and fibrous solid components by providing the rotating filter member and a backwashing port opposing to this within a casing in the titled device of centrifugal separation type having an inflow opening for the treating liquid in the direction deviated from the center of the casing.
CONSTITUTION: Treating liquid flows through the inflow port 18 of a filter device 4 into an inflow chamber 12, passes through the filter member 17 of a rotary filter body 11 which is rotated by a motor 15, and is discharged through an outflow chamber 13 and an outflow port 19. Since in this case the port 18 opens in the tangential direction of the chamber 12, the treating liquid swirls in the chamber 12; its granular solid components of large specific gravities are gathered to the inside surface side of a casing 10 by centrifugal forces, are dropped along the tapered part 10a in the lower part and are discharged through a solid component discharge port 20. Hence, the granular solid components are not gnawed by the sealing part between the casing 10 and the filter body 11. The solid componets of the treating liquid passing through the member 17 are only the fibrous ones and therefore if the member 17 that suits to fibrous solids is used, the cologging is prevented. Further, a backwashing port 22 is provided to the inside surface of the chamber 12 of the casing 10, through which the fibrous solid components deposited on the member 17 are removed.
