Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform linear scanning with scanning lines of curved displacements which are sufficiently small in practical use by using a hologram disc disposed with the holograms recorded with the interference fringes of which the phase distributions are expressed by specific equations on the circumference. CONSTITUTION:This is so constituted that the light beam 3 from a light beam generator consisting of a laser 1 and a lens 2 irradiates the holograms 5-10 disposed on the circumference of a hologram disc 4 and the disc 4 is rotated by a motor 12, whereby scanning is accomplished on a scanning plane 14, wherein the interference fringes of which the phase distributions phi of the holograms 5-10 are expressed by the equation I are disposed and further the holograms 5-10 are so disposed that the relation of Xc and R satisfies the equation II where the irradiation position of the light beam 3 is defined as the point of a radius R from the disc center and the distance between the disc center and the center of the hologram interference fringes as Xc.
