Abstract

PURPOSE: To utilize the sensible heat of the heat source body effectively without causing an environmental pollution by a method wherein the heat source body is thrown into a heat medium in an enclosed vessel and the cooled heat source body is retrieved.
CONSTITUTION: The vessl 1 filled with high temperature slug 3 and a retrieving vessle 2 are introduced into a pressurizing and pressure reducing chamber 6 from an outside partition plate 7. On the other hand, high pressure air is sent from a pressurizing valve 9 and when the pressure in the pressurizing and pressure reducing chamber 6 has become equal to that of a slug throwing chamber 11, a partitioning plate 8 is closed to move both of the vessels 1, 2 to a predetermined position in the throwing chamber 11. Next, the partitioning plate 8 is closed and the high temperature slug 3 from the vessel 1 is thrown into the heat medium in a heat exchanging chamber 14 to emit the heat thereof as slug 5 while it is retrieved into the retrieving vessel 2 by means of a conveyor 17 after it is cooled. The heat exchanging chamber 14 is communicated with a flash chamber 16 and the heat medium is evaporated under a reduced pressure in the flash chamber 16 in which the pressure is lower than the throwing chamber 11. Both of the vessels 1, 2 are moved into the pressurizing and pressure reducing chamber 6 after heat exchange is finished and the pressure in the chamber is reduced to an atmospheric pressure by a pressure reducing valve 10, thereafter, both of the vessels 1, 2 are taken out therefrom.
