Abstract
PURPOSE: To make possible water intake without large construction work with continuous water intake by the theory of siphon by extending the suction pipe having a water intake body following changes in the water level at one end thereof on the opposite side of the storage sector beyond the bank.
CONSTITUTION: In the intake of water from a water reservior 3, first a water con- trol valve 9 is closed and an inlet 15 of the water intake body 6 is submerged in water. Then, an air valve 12 is opened while an opening/closing valve 45 of the water intake body 6 is closed. Under such a condition, a water pump 13 is driven to inject water from the water reservoir 3 into a water suction pipe 4 and a water conduit 7. With the injection of water, the air in both the pipes 4 and 7 is discharged out from an air valve 12. When the water fills the pipes 4, 7 the water is stopped and the air valve 12 is closed. Thereafter, as soon as the water control valve 9 and the opening/closing valve 45 are opened, the water is sucked up continuously by the theory of siphon to be discharged from the water conduit 7. Here, the performance of a telescopic suction pipe 5 assures smooth intake regardless of changes in the water level.
