Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a better fending effect for ships of various sizes, by combining large and small fender beams members of identical and varied types combined together to form a fender beam.
CONSTITUTION: The titled fender beam composed of a large fender beam member and a small fender beam member both cylindrical. The large fender beam member 2 is mounted on a quaywall 6 with a stud bolt 5 through a flange 4a at one end thereof. An adaptor 8 is mounted on the other end thereof with a stud bolt 7. The small fender beam member 3 is fixed on the adaptor 8 through a flange 3a at one end thereof. A buffer plate 11 is mounted on a flange 3b at the other end of the small fender beam member with a bolt 10. This provides a better fending effect regardless of the size of ships.
