Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst with enhanced denitration reaction activity in a low temp. range by a method wherein a catalyst stock compound with a specific metal component is mixed in a dry and crispy condition and, further, an inorg. fibrous substance is added and kneaded in a viscous condition and, thereafter, the resulting mixture is molded. CONSTITUTION:To a catalyst stock compound containing at least one metal component selected from a group consisting of Ti, V, Mo, W, Sn, Cr, Mn and Fe, a small amount of water is added and mixed to form a pendular state. Subsequently, an inorg. fibrous substance is mixed therein and, further, water is added thereto and mixed so as to form a funicular or a capillary state. The resulting mixture is molded by extrusion according to a conventional method and the obtained molded product is dried, ground, screened and molded into a tablet to obtain a catalyst. Further, as the inorg. fibrous substance, at least one is selected from silica, silica- alumina, alumina and an inorg. glass and a diameter thereof is about 1-10mum and an adding amount thereof is about 0.1-50% per catalyst weight.
