Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a fault in a logical circuit through an output terminal by itself, by constituting a circuit which check the fault in the circuit by using logical values present in the logical circuit. CONSTITUTION:A logical circuit 10 is an optical logical circuit used to a operate an original circuit, and two FFs 11 and 12 constitute some part of the circuit 10. To respective positive outputs and negative outputs of the FFs 11 and 12, OR circuits 13 and 14 are connected exclusively and outputs of circuits 13 and 14 are ''1''s invariably. Therefore, the logical value of an output terminal 16 is a ''1'' according to the output of an AND circuit 15. If either one of the positive and negative outputs of the FFs 11 and 12 is troubled, the output of the circuit 13 or 14 goes to a ''0'', and the output of the terminal also goes to a ''0''. Consequently, a fault in the circuit is detected automatically via the terminal 16.
