Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a fluid measuring apparatus which can calibrate a flow meter, by a method wherein two flow meters are connected in series to a line, and simultaneously, calibrating lines, calibrating bypass pipes, and bypass pipes are coupled in parallel and are alternately switched. CONSTITUTION:Flow meters 11 and 12 are connected in series to a line 13, and simultaneously, bypass pipes 14 and 15 are located in parallel to the flow meters 11 and 12. Calibrating lines 16 and 17 and calibrating bypass pipes 18 and 19 are connected, as shown in a drawing, to the front and the rear of each of the flow meters 11 and 12 through the medium of gate valves G-J. Valves E and F are mounted at the bypass pipes and inlet valves A, C and outlet valves B, D at the upstream side and the downstream side of each of the flow meters 11 and 12. As a result, with the valves A-D opened, the flow meters 11 and 12 can measure a discharge passing through the line 13. Additionally, with the valves A, B, F, I, J shut off and with other valves opened, the flow meter 12 can measure a discharge, and simultaneously, a flow meter 1 can be calibrated. If opening and shutting-off of the valves reverse, it permits the calibration of a flow meter 2.
