Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a reduction of a wire rod in diameter due to a change in tension by delaying the peripheral speed of a final electrode ring for annealing from that of a capstan by a specified percentage when a wire rod from the capstan in preheated and annealed with a plurality of electrode rings. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod 1 is introduced into a continuously annealing apparatus 10 from the capstan 14 of a drawing machine 12, treated with electrode rings 16, 18, 20 for preheating and annealing, and coiled with a coiler 26 through a guide pulley 24. The rod 1 is preheated between the 1st and 2nd rings 16, 18, annealed between the 2nd and 3rd rings 18, 20, and cooled between the 3rd ring 20 and the pulley 24. Accordingly, the part 1a of the rod 1 between the 2nd and 3rd rings 18, 20 is softest and easily undergoes a change in diameter by tension. In order to prevent the application of a change in tension to the part 1a, the peripheral speed of the final ring 20 for annealing is set to 99-94% of the peripheral speed of the capstan 14.
