Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate an easy convertion of polarized wave types, by connecting a polarized wave converter which is capable of a phase transition between 90 deg. and 180 deg. to the inside of an electromagnetic horn having the aperture parts of asymmetric rotation and thus compensating the phase transition caused at the inside of the electromagnetic horn. CONSTITUTION:The rotatable flanges 11, 12 and 13, polarized wave converters 14 and 15 which performs a phase transition between 90 deg. and 180 deg. plus a rectangular/round converting waveguide 16 are connected to the throat part of an oval aperture horn 1 as shown in the diagram. The circular polarized wave arrived at the aperture surface I2 is turned into an oval polarized wave owing to a phase difference between the X2 and Y2 axes of the horn 1 and then put into the converter 14. The converter 14 is rotated to obtain a point where a linear polarized wave is obtained through the flange 12, and then the converter 15 is rotated to obtain a linear polarized wave on the end surface O2 and in a desired direction. The linear polarized wave arrived at the surface I2 is also turned once into an oval polarized wave, and a linear polarized wave can be obtained on the surface O2 just by rotating the converters 14 and 15. As a result, the polarized wave type can be converted in a simple way just through rotation of the polarized wave converters even in case when the electric wave is transmitted.
