Abstract
PURPOSE:To make stable charging on a small charger by insulation coating a shielding plate of the charger. CONSTITUTION:A shielding plate 4 enclosing a discharging wire 6 is coated with insulating coating 5. After start of discharging the surface of the shielding plate is charged at once, so ions do not move to a direction A of the shielding plate and run to a direction B of a photosensitive body 10 to cause stable charging, with the same effect as a conventional charger equipped with a large shielding plate. Blackning coating is desirable because when used as a charger with which exposure is made simultaneously, a light is not scattered at the shielding plate.
