Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor in a long wavelength region for use in a semiconductor laser beam printer, by laminating an interlayer for allowing photocharge carriers to pass it, and a photoconductive layer made of amorphous silicon formed by blow discharge on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:An interlayer consisting of CdS.nCdCO3 powder and a thermosetting resin is formed on a substrate 23. This interlayer has >=10<13>OMEGA.cm resistivity and 10-70mum thickness capable of transmitting photocharge carriers. An amorphous silicon layer is formed on the interlayer by glow discharge in SiH4, oxygen, hydrogen, etc. fed from material gas tanks 1-4 in a reaction tube 21. This silicon layer is 0.5-10mum thick, and this photoreceptor is sensitive to the wavelength range from the longer visible light wavelength to the near-infrared region.
