Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain safe flow meter calibrating operation without interrupting the operation of the process by closing the inlet and outlet of a branch passage during the calibrating operation whereas by closing the inlet and outlet of the piping for calibration in the normal operation of the process. CONSTITUTION:Pipes for calibration are connected to the outlet and inlet of a measuring part with stop valves disposed at the branching part and the joining part. For example, a branch passage 3 is branched from a main passage 2 and a flow rate measuring unit 4 is disposed in the branch passage 3. Pipes 10 and 11 for calibration of a separate system are connected to the inlet and to the outlet, respectively, of the measuring unit 4. Stop valves 6 and 7 are provided at the branching part and the joining part, respectively, of the branch passage 3. Stop valves 8 and 9 are provided on the pipes 10 and 11 for calibration. Thus the operation of the process will not have to be interrupted during the calibrating operation, since the stop valves 6 and 7 can be closed during the calibrating operation.
