Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the quality of crude oil without sampling at the contaminated portion where both crude oils mix with each other by providing a sampling circuit including a three-way valve to sample to a circulating closed duct communicating with a pipe line. CONSTITUTION:When the fact that a new following lot of crude oil has passed through a pipe line 1 is detected by the count signal from a flowmeter 3, a quantitative pump 7 introduces the new following lot of crude oil through a fluid inlet pipe portion 2 into a circulating pipe 4, and the old crude oil in the circulating pipe 4 is forced out through a fluid outlet pipe portion 3. When the circulation completing time has passed, a three-way solenoid valve 6 changes over so that a sampling pipe 11 is opened and the new crude oil is sent into a closed sample container 10. Thereafter, the three-way solenoid valve 6 changes over to the former state so that a circulating closed duct is constituted by the circulating pipe 4 again. Accordingly, the circulating inflow from the line is stopped, and a return solenoid valve 18 changes over to the open state so that the old crude oil in a sample discharging pipe 12 is sent out through the circulating pipe 4 to the pipe line 1.
