Abstract

PURPOSE: To uniformalize cooling with inexpensive installation costs by forming a slitlike nozzle used for a slit laminar cooling system into a crest shape and disposing the convex part of this nozzle so as to oppose to the advance direction of a hot steel plate.
CONSTITUTION: A slitlike nozzle 1 which is curbed to a crest shape is mounted to a water supply header pipe curved to the same shape and is disposed in such a manner that the vertex of the crest shape curve thereof face to each other with respect to the advance direction 3 of a hot steel plate 2. The angle α which is 1/2 the opening angle of this slitlike nozzle 1 is set at about ≤70° with respect to the advance direction of the steel plate. Then, the flow line 4 of water on the steel plate 2 flows uniformly in the directions of arrow, and this prevents the decrease in cooling capacity.
